How to Check Your Hardware

Here you may learn how to identify your drive and brand names by following the description below.
If your drive is installed in the personal computer system when purchased, consult with respective manufacturer by pressing the appropriate link button.
Note: Some drive cannot be identified by the measure described below. Please note the check process is different according to the OSes and software bundled.

Windows95/98/Me/NT are used, you can check from the OSes.

< 95/98/Me >

  1. Open Control Panel from My Computer
  2. Open System Icon
  3. Select Device Manager
  4. Select CD-ROM drive letter
  5. Select the drive used and check its property to identify the drive name and brand
< NT >
  1. Open Control Panel from My Computer
  2. Open the SCSI Adapter
  3. Select IDE Controller and open the property of the drive used
  4. Check the tag to identify the drive name and brand

< XP >
  1. Open My Computer
  2. Click open Drive Icon then click open the property
  3. Select Hardware
  4. Check Hardware Tag to identify the drive name and brand

< MAC OS 9>
  1. Open Apple Menu
  2. Open Apple System Profiler
  3. Open Devices and Volumes
  4. Find DVD-R/CD-RW Device and click open the triangle tag to identify the drive name

< MAC OS 10 >
  1. Open Macintosh HD
  2. Open Application Folder
  3. Open Utilities Folder
  4. Open Apple System Profiler
  5. Open Devices and Volume tag
  6. Check DVD-R/CD-RW Device and click open the triangle tag to identify the drive name
